In GTA4, you take the role of Nico Bellic, a veteran of an un-named war in the East of Europe. After a failed smuggling run, Bellic leaves eastern Europe to come to Liberty City in the US to start a new life, and to see his cousin Roman.
However, Roman’s tales of wealth and riches are not entirely true, and before long Nico has to defend his cousin several times from loan sharks desperate for his blood. Eventually after several attacks, Nico kills one of them. Shortly following the murder, an arson attack on Roman’s home and taxi company causes them to flee to Bohan, presuming themselves safe. However, not all is as it seems, with a drug deal resulting in a police sting and the discovery that Nico’s girlfriend is actually a member of a government agency. Forced into hunting down and killing several known terrorists in exchange for the name of the informant who ratted on Nico’s drug running operation, the plot continues with twists and turns at every corner.
