BookmarkMass Effect – formerly an XBOX exclusive franchise, is now available on Playstation 3. Following on from the events of Mass Effect, the Normandy is attacked by a starship unknown to the crew, and Commander Shepard is killed. However, shortly afterwards his/her body is recovered and resurrected over two years by Cerberus. Once awake, he is permitted an audience with ‘The Illusive Man,’ head of the Cerberus organisation. During this meeting, the Illusive Man informs Shepard that human colonies across the world are disappearing, and has a theory that the Reapers are responsible.
Convinced by The Illusive Man’s theory, Shepard gets to work finding a following in order to investigate and bring an end to the disappearing Human colonies. After building a team of loyal teammates, you set off across planets in an attempt to stop the Reaper’s attacks. Will Shepard and your new team be able to find the reason why the Reapers are causing colonies to disappear? Soon, however, a Reaper attack hits the Normandy, and the action gets closer to home.
With over 70 perfect reviews from various sources and an average score of 94 on Metacritic, Mass Effect 2 is one of the most well-received games available today. So much so, that IGN names the game the best game of the modern console generation in July 2011. Mass Effect 2 is a title that should not be missed by any serious games, and is available today on Playstation 3, XBOX 360 and PC.
