Batman: Arkham City, sequel to the smash-hit Batman: Arkham Asylum, looks set to be even better than it’s predecessor. Set about one year after the events of Arkham Asylum, former Arkham Asylum warden Quincy Sharp has received the credit for stopping The Joker and his dastardly plot. With the resulting fame and notoriety, he is selected as the next mayor of Gotham City. His first action as mayor is to buy up a large area of slums on the outskirts of Gotham and enlists armed guards to protect theĀ perimeter. With The Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison in no state to hold inmates, former prisoners are put into the area with free reign, assuming they behave.
Meanwhile, the Batman is maintaining a vigil over the proceedings, afraid that the situation my spin out of control. Naturally, it does, as Two Face attempts to plan a public execution of Catwoman, causing the Batman to enter the newly created city in an attempt to stop the execution. However, his appearance leads to all hell breaking loose, and Arkham City faces it’s greatest ever threat. Take the role of The Batman in the latest open-world Batman game and put a stop to villainous plots of many of his greatest archenemies.
